Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies are continuing its investigation into a report of an elderly man seen driving a truck with a nude child.
Sheriff Chip Simmons said a witness walking their dog near Bauer Road and Gulf Beach Highway on March 8 reported they noticed the naked juvenile girl inside the truck with the elderly man.
“We need your help,” Simmons said in a video posted to the department’s Facebook page. “If this truck or this man sounds familiar to you, please call 911 and let us know.”
The pickup truck is described as a brown or tan 1990s model with rust throughout the vehicle. It also had scrap metal in the truck bed and a paper license plate.
The man is described to be in his 60s with white hair and a white mustache.
In an update sent by the department Sunday afternoon, video was obtained of the area but no vehicles matched the description of the suspected pickup truck.
The ECSO told the News Journal that the case remains under investigation, and deputies are still seeking tips from the general public.
