Dolphins vs. Jets live updates: NFL game score, highlights

The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets may not have a win between the two of them, but they’ll be in the prime-time spotlight anyway in Week 4.

With the Dolphins debuting their alternate “Rivalries” uniform, the Monday Night Football crew will come to Hard Rock Stadium. For the Jets, it’ll be the return of Justin Fields, who suffered a concussion in the team’s Week 2 loss and sat out last week.

The winner won’t be far out of the mix in an AFC that only has a handful of teams above .500. The loser will be in the cellar of the AFC East with little hope of a turnaround.

Final: Dolphins 27, Jets 21

Rasul Douglas gets Moss’d by Garrett Wilson

It’s tough to fault Douglas for allowing a 23-yard touchdown because his coverage against Wilson was perfect. But despite an arm from Douglas making a catch awfully difficult, the Jets’ receiver made a ridiculous grab to cut the Dolphins’ lead to 27-21.

Nick Folk cuts lead to 11 with 50-yard field goal

A pair of costly penalties for the Jets backed the team way out of the red zone and forced them to settle for a 50-yard Folk field goal. The 40-year-old kicker nailed it, but the Dolphins still kept a double-digit lead with 13 minutes left.

Tyreek Hill reportedly suffered dislocated knee

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the injury suffered by Hill is a dislocated knee which is often much more serious than a solo ligament tear.

Zach Sieler stonewalls Jets drive with back-to-back TFLs

It’s been a quiet start to the 2025 season for Sieler, who was on the wrong side of a costly penalty last week. But he finally broke through with his first tackle for loss of the season to force a third down. Sieler immediately followed it with another impressive stop behind the line of scrimmage to force a punt.

De’Von Achane gets Dolphins’ lead back to 14

The Dolphins offense continues to be tough to stop for the Jets. A well-balanced seven-play drive picked up 68 yards and was capped by a swing pass to Achane who danced through a few Jets defenders for a touchdown.

Justin Fields cuts lead in half with electric 43-yard touchdown

With New York facing a fourth-and-1, the Dolphins had a chance to really put the Jets to bed with a turnover on downs. Instead, Fields weaved through the Miami defense for a 43-yard touchdown that cut the lead to 17-10.

Darren Waller catches another touchdown

Not long after Tyreek Hill’s injury, the Dolphins extended their lead to 14 with Waller’s second touchdown of the night.

Tyreek Hill injured on third quarter reception

A 10-yard reception for Hill on the sidelines moved the chains, but the receiver was clutching his leg. Replays showed a gruesome injury to his lower leg and the cart was immediately called to take Hill off the field.

Dolphins get third turnover on second half kickoff

The Jets’ Isaiah Williams fumbled the opening kickoff of the third quarter and it was scooped up by rookie safety Dante Trader Jr. That set up the Dolphins in Jets territory with a chance to extend their lead.

Jets’ Nick Folk makes career-long 58-yard field goal before halftime

New York’s kicker, who turns 41 in November, made the longest kick of his career to cut the Dolphins’ lead to seven. He previously made a pair of 56-yarders before hitting one from 58 on Monday.

Dolphins drive stalls after Larry Borom holding penalty

Miami’s fourth third down conversion of the night was nullified by a holding penalty that left the Dolphins with a third-and-19 near midfield. While a pass to Malik Washington got about half of that yardage, the Dolphins decided to punt rather than try to convert a fourth-and-9 or attempt a 60-yard field goal.

Tyrel Dodson strip sack ends Jets drive at midfield

With the Jets facing a fourth down in Dolphins territory, Dodson’s sack would’ve ended New York’s drive, regardless. But he added even better field position by knocking the ball out of Justin Fields’ hands before it was scooped up by Jaelan Phillips for a few extra yards.

Dolphins lose challenge on kickoff

Jets running back Braelon Allen lost control of a ball on a kickoff and Mike McDaniel challenged that he held on to it all the way to the ground. But after a review, officials determined that Allen was down by contact. The Dolphins were charged a timeout.

McDaniel has won four of 20 challenges during his time as the Dolphins head coach.

Darren Waller touchdown on fourth down puts Dolphins up 10

After starting the drive on their own 4-yard line, the Dolphins were in jeopardy of ending it without any points after the Jets forced a fourth-and-goal. But Tua Tagovailoa lobbed a pass up to his newest weapon, Darren Waller, and the tight end managed to get both feet down for his first touchdown in Miami.

Tagovailoa had a 28-yard completion to Tyreek Hill earlier in the drive as well as a 25-yarder for Jaylen Waddle.

Quick first quarter ends with Dolphins up 3-0

Thanks mostly to a run-heavy drive by the Jets, the first quarter zipped by in less than a half hour. It ended with the Dolphins driving with a three-point lead.

Jack Jones forces first takeaway of Dolphins’ season to end long Jets drive

New York bullied the Dolphins defense on a 12-play drive that saw the Jets offense rush 11 times for 76 yards. But the last yard before the goal line is where that drive ended when cornerback Jack Jones punched the ball free from the arms of running back Braelon Allen. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick jumped on the ball, preserving a 3-0 lead for the Dolphins.

Riley Patterson gets Dolphins in front with 47-yard field goal

Miami opened the game with a 10-play, 37-yard drive that included first down receptions by Darren Waller and Tyreek Hill that moved the chains. But it fizzled out in Jets territory and the Dolphins settled for a field goal to take a 3-0 lead.

Cole Strange gets the start at right guard

While ESPN’s starting lineup graphic showed Kion Smith as the starter, it was former Patriots first-round pick Cole Strange who actually got the start. That’s a bit of a surprise after he had zero snaps with Miami in the last two weeks, while Smith and Daniel Brunskill split time on the field.

Dolphins, Jets announce inactives

After opting against elevating any players from the practice squad, the Dolphins only had to rule out five players for the Monday night contest:

Bonner was questionable on the team’s final injury report of the week and Duck was ruled out. The other three players are healthy scratches.

For the Jets, the following seven players won’t suit up:
