Classes begin Aug. 11 at Palm Beach Public, other district schools in Palm Beach County

After 11 weeks away from their classrooms, Palm Beach County students return to school Aug. 11.

That’s when more than 180 elementary, middle and high school campuses will reopen for the 2025-26 school year, including Palm Beach Public Elementary School at 239 Cocoanut Row in Palm Beach.

Palm Beach Public serves approximately 370 students in kindergarten through grade 5. Its hours are 8 a.m. to 2:05 p.m.

When Palm Beach Public classes are in session, motorists must observe reduced speeds in school zones between 6:55 and 8 a.m. and 1:45 and 3:30 p.m. on school days. Speeds will be reduced to 15 mph on Cocoanut Row from Royal Palm Way to Seaspray Avenue, and on South County Road from Royal Palm Way to Seaspray.

The School District of Palm Beach County is the 10th largest district in the United States with more than 171,000 students.

Palm Beach Day Academy, a private school with a Palm Beach campus at 241 Seaview Ave., will reopen Sept. 2.

The first holiday for district students is Labor Day Sept 1. A fall holiday follows Sept. 23. There is no school for students Oct. 2 and Oct. 17.

The back-to-school sales tax holiday for Florida continues through Aug. 31.

Tax exemptions include book bags and clothing under $100, school supplies under $50, and educational tools under $30. Computers or related accessories priced at $1,500 or less also are exempt from sales tax.
