The Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought back running back Owen Wright to the practice squad after waiving him over the weekend, keeping a familiar depth option in the building as they continue to manage their backfield.
Wright entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2023 after finishing his college career with the Monmouth Hawks. Since arriving in Tampa Bay, he has worked primarily behind the scenes while remaining prepared for game day opportunities when needed.
This season, Wright has been active for games against the San Francisco 49ers, the Buffalo Bills, and the Los Angeles Rams. In limited regular-season action, he has recorded three rushing attempts for six yards.
For the Buccaneers, this is a low-risk depth move that preserves continuity at the position. For Wright, it is another opportunity to stay ready, contribute however needed, and push for a larger role if the situation opens up.
