A boil water alert has been issued for portions of Edgewater after a large water main break occurred near Air Park Road and West Park Avenue, city officials texted Wednesday night, July 23.
About 3,600 homes and businesses are affected north of Indian River Boulevard to 10th Street and Riverside Drive to Old Mission Drive.

Residents in these areas should boil their water for at least one minute. Bottled water may be used, and bathing, showering and laundry may continue according to authorities.
Officials say a rescind notice will be posted when water is safe to drink.
