Blue-chip wide receiver names FSU Seminoles a top 10 school

The Florida State Seminoles do have a wide receiver committed in their 2027 recruiting class, but that does not mean that they are in a good spot for several targets. They received some more good news on Wednesday as four-star Trenton Yancey named them one of his top 10 schools on social media.

Yancey is from Duncanville, Texas, and is also considering the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Kentucky Wildcats, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, Oregon Ducks, SMU Mustangs, and TCU Horned Frogs.

FSU offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr. has been recruiting him since May of 2025, when they extended him a scholarship offer. They have never hosted him on a visit, something they will need to change for them to have a chance to land him.

He had a productive junior season at Duncanville High School, helping them go 12-2. He spent time at wide receiver and running back for them, catching 54 passes for 780 yards and nine touchdowns, and carrying the ball 31 times for 388 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Yancey is far from the only blue-chip wide receiver considering the Seminoles. They are also heavily pursuing Jabari Watkins, Nick Lennear, Jamarin Simmons, Sean Green, and more.
