The 2025-26 season will be remembered as one of the best in program history for the Bears with this game marking the first state championship appearance for Bayside.
After the game, Bears head coach Jonathan Frazier said just how much it meant to the team to go on this historic playoff run.
“It’s a true honor and blessing to be able to make this first final with these girls because these girls worked hard, they deserved it,” Frazier said. “It’s been a huge blessing and honor to be able to coach them.”
The Bears close out their season with a record of 23-9. The team also won Cape Coast Conference, district, and regional titles.
Frazier also recognized the seniors on the team for the leadership throughout the season, while highlighting how much the team has to be proud this season despite the loss.
“They went hand-in-hand like a high five, they were amazing together and they led us all the way here. That’s why right now I understand that their emotions are high, but they have nothing to be ashamed of, this doesn’t define our season,” Frazier said.
