After 4 years, News4Jax 'Morning Show' anchor announces plans to leave

Another familiar face is set to depart from Jacksonville’s airwaves.

After four years on News4Jax’s “The Morning Show,” traffic anchor/reporter Amanda DeVoe is leaving the popular morning news program.

“I have some bittersweet news to share,” DeVoe shared in a March 9 social media post. “This week will be my final week at News4JAX. I’m stepping into a new and exciting opportunity that I can’t wait to share with you soon.”

Her final appearance on the news program will be on Friday, March 13, she wrote.

DeVoe joined WJXT TV-4’s “The Morning Show” team in March 2022 after working previously in Mobile, Ala., Milwaukee, Wis., and Rockford, Ill., according to her News4Jax profile.

“I’m incredibly grateful for my four years at Channel 4,” she wrote in her post. “… During my time here, I’ve had the honor of telling stories that matter — shining a light on injustice, amplifying marginalized voices, and celebrating the people and history that make this city special. Along the way, I learned how to swim here, earned my first Emmy, and had the privilege of connecting with so many of you through the stories we shared together.”
