One of the most popular Naples attractions has been honored for the second year in a row.

The Naples Zoo has been named in USA Today’s 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards for 2026.

And the national news publication rated the Naples Zoo’s Primate Expedition Cruise sixth among the 10 best zoo exhibits across the country for 2026.

“Climb aboard a catamaran at the Naples Zoo for a 15- to 20-minute cruise around an island where monkeys, gibbons, apes, and lemurs cavort in their own tropical paradise,” 10BEST said in naming it among top exhibits in the U.S.

2. CCSO INVESTIGATING: Deadly shooting at Whistler’s Cove

Authorities continue their search for a shooter on the loose more than a week after two men were shot to death in East Naples. An incident report from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Raul Rojas, 28, and Juan Ruiz-Perez, 25, both of Naples.

According to the report, just before 9:45 p.m. March 8, sheriff’s deputies responded to the 11400 block of Whistler’s Cove Circle to reports of a person “laying on the ground bleeding from the face.”

When authorities arrived, they found a pickup parked at an angle in a parking lot. They found Rojas slumped over in the driver’s seat with the pickup parked and running.

Authorities then found Ruiz-Perez on the ground near the driver’s side. Officials recovered two spent shell casings from the ground.

Ruiz-Perez did not have a pulse, while Rojas had a “weak pulse,” according to the sheriff’s office. Both died.
