3 To Do: Shrimp Festival; Cat Food Drive and ‘The Buddy Holly Story’

1. THIS WEEKEND: Fort Myers Beach Lions Club Shrimp Festival

If you love shrimp, this is the place to be. It’s all to celebrate the island’s enduring shrimp industry. Various locations Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8.

The 68th Annual fest is packed with two days of events, including a 5K run (9 a.m., Saturday), a parade (10 a.m., Saturday), the Blessing of the Fleet (10 a.m., Sunday) and an arts-and-crafts fair (10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday).

2. SATURDAY: Community Cat Food Drive

For the Love of Cats will host its annual Community Cat Food Drive on Saturday, March 7, to support cats and the caregivers who feed them. 

For those giving: All donations must be delivered by Friday, March 6, to North Collier Park, Exhibit Hall Building, 15000 Livingston Rd, Naples. 

Collected food will be distributed to community cat caregivers on Saturday, March 7. 

For the Love of Cats is a nonprofit rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Collier County.

3. ON STAGE NOW: ‘Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story’

Watch this rock-n-roll icon’s rise to fame on stage.

Showing now through March 15 at The G&L Theatre at the Community School of Naples, 13275 Livingston Road, Naples.
