With the Chargers (9-4) and Texans (8-5) firmly in the AFC playoff picture, it made sense for the game to be a standalone spot that a wider audience could tune in to.

The last time Los Angeles and Houston faced off was the 2025 AFC Wild Card, where the Texans defeated the Chargers 32-12.

In addition to the Texans-Chargers game, the NFL also flexed the Ravens vs. Packers matchup to Saturday, December 27, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PT on Peacock.
