With Steph Curry sidelined due to a hamstring injury, the Golden State Warriors needed to make a change to their starting lineup. In Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Steve Kerr opted to start rookie big man Quinten Post. However, Post only played three minutes on Thursday night.
On Saturday at Chase Center, Kerr and the Warriors will use a new starting lineup with a change coming to the frontcourt. Instead of Post, the Warriors will start Trayce Jackson-Davis alongside Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
Jackson-Davis was a bright spot in Golden State’s 117-93 loss in Minnesota in Game 2. The second-year big man out of Indiana tallied 15 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field with six rebounds, an assist and a steal in 19 minutes off the bench.
Jackson-Davis fell out of Golden State’s rotation in January of the regular season. Jackson-Davis is averaging 6.6 points and five rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game in his second season in the NBA.
Jackson-Davis’ Game 2 performance with 15 points was his highest scoring output since Jan. 7 against the Miami Heat (19 points).
Game 3 is set to tip off at 5:30 p.m. PT in San Francisco.
