Week 12 of the 2025 college football season is here, and that means my Big Ten predictions are back! Each week this season, I will be making my predictions for every Big Ten football game. These picks are not against the spread, but rather straight up which team I think will win.
After three very good weeks in a row, I struggled last week, going just 4-3. Can I bounce back this week? Here are my picks for Week 12:
Oregon over Minnesota (Friday)
Oregon does not get caught looking ahead to next week’s potentially huge matchup with USC.
Indiana over Wisconsin
Good for Wisconsin for finally winning a Big Ten game last week. It isn’t going to happen again this week.
Michigan over Northwestern
This game is being played at Wrigley Field, so I am taking the Tigers over the Cubs.
USC over Iowa
Not going to lie, I kind of wish we could have the 2023 versions of these teams play so that the country could watch a Brian Ferentz offense against an Alex Grinch defense. Even in 2025, however, the two teams still play completely different styles of football. Give me the Trojans to get a victory at home.
Penn State over Michigan State
Imagine telling someone at the start of the season that these would be two of the three teams winless in Big Ten play midway through November.
Illinois over Maryland
Illinois’s last three games of the season are against Maryland, Wisconsin, and Northwestern. The Illini may be kicking themselves over their loss to Washington for a while, as it may very well be what winds up keeping them out of the College Football Playoff.
Washington over Purdue
Surely the Huskies will not lose to a team winless in conference play for the second week in a row, right?
Ohio State over UCLA
I have watched UCLA lose a lot of football games over the past 5-10 years. I am not sure that I have ever been more confident of them losing than this Saturday against the No. 1 team in the country.
