Comment: The guard scored 31 points to help the Cardinals clinch an unbeaten Citrus Coast League title with a 92-48 win over Carpinteria last Monday. Alvarez also became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,493 points, surpassing his former teammate Jose Valdovinos, who capped his career in 2025 with 1,477 career points. Santa Paula, which went 12-0 in league and 23-5 overall, will open the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs at Corona on Wednesday.

Comment: The 6-foot-1 forward finished the regular season with another double-double performance for the Cougars, scoring 26 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in a 62-43 win over Oxnard last Tuesday. Ventura went unbeaten in league at 14-0 to win its fifth straight league championship. Anderson averaged a double-double with 17.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. The Cougars (24-4) are the top seed for the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs and will host Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks on Thursday.
