Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback Ty Simpson knows he has a great situation in front of him: being able to learn from Matthew Stafford.
Simpson, who was the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NFL draft, is already being taken under Stafford’s wing just weeks into his NFL career. He called the opportunity a “blessing,” but noted that he might be “annoying” the other Rams quarterbacks with his persistent questions.
“Being in the room with him is just, you know, such a blessing, and I really appreciate him and Stetson [Bennett] taking me in and answering all the questions I have,” Simpson said. “I know I’m probably annoying them, but it’s been really helpful, so I can’t thank them enough.”
Simpson will likely start his career as the Rams’ third quarterback behind Stafford and Bennett, but the plan is for him to become the starter in a few years, once Stafford officially retires. The Alabama product threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns with only five interceptions in 2025, his lone season as the starter for the Crimson Tide. He completed 64.5% of his passes and averaged 7.5 yards per attempt.
