Prediction and betting odds for Lakers vs. Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet.

The Lakers will look to get their third win in a row after back-to-back blowout victories against the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings over the weekend. They have already won all three of their prior games against New Orleans this season, and Tuesday’s game can serve as a tune-up for some difficult games they have coming up versus the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets.

Lakers vs Pelicans injury reports

Pelicans: Zion Williamson (right ankle sprain) is questionable.

Lakers: No injuries reported.

Advice and Prediction:

This could be a proverbial trap game for the Lakers, who will visit the Nuggets on Thursday. That is especially true when one considers that New Orleans has won five of its last eight games.

Forward Zion Williamson is in the midst of one of the healthiest stretches of his career. On Sunday, he missed his first game since Dec. 11 due to an ankle sprain, and he’s listed as questionable for Tuesday’s matchup. He’s averaging 21.5 points on 58.5% field-goal shooting, and as usual, he’s a big load in the paint.

The Pelicans’ leading scorer is forward Trey Murphy III, who is at 22 points a game and is a dynamic and athletic two-way player. As a team, they have been putting up a lot of points — 118.6 per game, to be exact — during this eight-game spurt, and on the season, they rank seventh in fast-break points per game and second in points in the paint per game.

As long as the Lakers remain focused and in the moment, they should win this game without any trouble.

Prediction: Lakers 118, Pelicans 110
