The crash was reported around 7:15 a.m. as a person seen ejected from the motorcycle and onto a frontage road, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident page. Both CHP and Ventura County Fire responded to the scene.

CHP Officer B. Vysochin said the driver was an adult male and the crash involved only the motorcycle. He said initial reports indicated the man may have been driving recklessly but the crash is still under investigation.

A news release from the CHP Feb. 9 said the driver was a 22-year-old from Oxnard.

Callers also reported the man may have landed near the railroad tracks in the area, and rail traffic was briefly halted until it was determined the driver was not near the rails, according to Vysochin.

“Out of an abundance of caution train traffic was temporarily halted,” he said.
