Mick Cronin explains why UCLA MBB doesn't share Nebraska's record

UCLA men’s basketball head coach Mick Cronin cited his team’s attitude as the reason why the Bruins don’t have No. 9 Nebraska’s record, according to California Post reporter Ben Bolch.

Cronin has been known to let his feelings out in his postgame press conferences and it remained that way after the Bruins ousted Nebraska in a 72-52 thumping at the Pauley Pavilion on Tuesday. The win came off of a miserable defensive performance against Minnesota that resulted in a 78-73 loss on Saturday.

“If we would just have their attitude, we would have their record–that’s my opinion,” Cronin said about Nebraska, according to Bolch.

The Cornhuskers have a 25-15 overall record and have been a ranked opponent throughout the season. Meanwhile, the Bruins have had their ups-and-downs throughout the course of the season, but they managed to find their way to three top-10 ranked wins to defend the Pauley Pavilion and have a 20-10 overall record ahead of their last game of the season against the USC Trojans on Saturday.

This hasn’t been the first time Cronin has called out his players for a lack of effort, but this is coming after a blowout win against a top-10 team in the country. Afterall, Cronin had plenty of his own problems that got him in hot water throughout the season.

However, the season could have panned out, the Bruins have managed to give themselves an opportunity for a post season berth and Cronin will need to get his team ready to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament.
