Two athletes are being recognized for their outstanding achievements on the field and court.
This week, both a Foothill and an Enterprise athlete are being highlighted. It’s time to meet the two Shasta Family YMCA Athletes of the Week for their accomplishments over the week of Nov. 24-20, 2025.
Darren Goodman, Redding Christian
Sport: Football
School: Redding Christian
Class: Junior
Team Contributions: Redding Christian junior Darren Goodman has been one of the most dominant two-way players throughout the 2025-26 high school football season, and he put up another strong performance on Wednesday, Nov. 26, to help the Lions win the Division V NSCIF championship. The tight end and defensive end racked 50 receiving yards, 31 rushing yards and two total touchdowns in the championship game. On defense, Goodman notched two quarterback hurries and a pass deflection from his defensive end spot. Throughout the season, Goodman accumulated 871 total yards and 16 total touchdowns while dominating offensive lines to the tune of 12.5 sacks.
Madison Hart, Foothill
Sport: Basketball
School: Foothill
Class: Junior
Team Contributions: Foothill junior Madison Hart kicked off the 2025-26 girls basketball season with an impressive 27-point performance to lead the Cougars over West Valley 58-50 on Saturday, Nov. 29. After trailing 30-17 at halftime, Hart and the Cougars outscored West Valley by 21 points in the second half to earn the win. Not only did Hart record a game-high in points, but she also recorded 12 rebounds in the winning effort. Hart was pulled up to the varsity team during the 2024-25 season and scored 24 points in three games. She’s already passed her varsity season totals from a year ago in just one game.
