Oregon landed their new quarterback just days after the Ducks saw their season end in the College Football Playoff semifinals, landing former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola in the portal to likely replace Dante Moore.
It’s a smart move for Raiola, with Oregon consistently getting their quarterbacks drafted into the NFL, with Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel going in the past two drafts, and Moore is projected to be a top pick in this year’s draft. Moore hasn’t officially declared for the draft but with Raiola headed to Eugene, it seems that the former Bruin is nearly a sure thing to turn pro this season.
There’s a chance that Moore could stay with the Ducks, having Raiola use his redshirt season and still have two more seasons of eligibility following the 2026 season, but it’d be a surprise if Raiola didn’t pursue an immediate starting job for himself.
Raiola missed much of the season this year for the Cornhuskers with a broken fibula, which kept Raiola out of Nebraska’s game against the Bruins this past season. Raiola will have a chance to face UCLA again this season, with the Bruins making the trip to Autzen Stadium this year.
Over the past two seasons as the Nebraska quarterback, Raiola has put up 4,819 passing yards with 31 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Raiola is a former five star recruit who 247 Sports had ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in the portal.
The Oregon offense will likely get the best out of Raiola, the Ducks continue to have explosive offenses under Dan Lanning and going from Moore to Raiola shouldn’t change that. Oregon will remain one of the top programs in the Big Ten that Bob Chesney and the Bruins will have to chase down in the Big Ten.
