The transfer portal is a fast moving entity with players entering and having immediate contact with schools and coaches. On Tuesday, Michigan State redshirt freshman wing Gehrig Normand entered the transfer portal, and a list of schools in contact with him has already been publicly assembled.
Normand, who spent two seasons in East Lansing after being a member of the 2023 recruiting class, averaged 0.6 points in 13 games of action, but is thought to still have potential to play at the collegiate level.
Following his entrance of the portal, The Portal Report is reporting Normand has heard from a number of schools at both the power conference and mid-major level.
The schools reportedly showing interest in the Spartan transfer include Ole Miss, LSU, UCF, Toledo, Wright State, Texas-Arlington, TCU, West Virginia, Duquesne, Long Beach State and Bowling Green.
The North Richland Hills, Texas, native will have to parse the list of suitors at both levels of play and decide what move is next for him in his collegiate career.
