As the final days of September rush in on the way to Halloween fun there’s plenty of opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy special events in St. Clair County and beyond this fall.
Here’s a short list of time, dates and where to go.
Fall Vendor Splendor Craft Show
Place: Birchwood Mall at 4350 24th Avenue in Port Huron
Date: Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: Free
Details: Experience the fall splendor craft fair with over 75 vendors in attendance throughout the mall. Free fall photos, free admission, raffles, and more.
Lakeside Cemetery Walking Tour

A Lakeside Cemetery Walking Tour, hosed by Port Huron Museum Manager of Community Engagement Andrew Kercher, will be held on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.
Place: Lakeside Cemetery at 3663 10th Ave in Port Huron
Date: Friday, September 22, 2023
Time: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Cost: $10
Details: In this tour, learn about the history of cemeteries in Port Huron, Hear the stories of moving thousands from older cemeteries across town to their new final resting place in the 1880s. Visit the final resting place of some of Port Huron’s most familiar names, from famous criminals to businessmen and luminaries, there are many who now call Lakeside home. Learn how to read and interpret some of the symbiology commonly found on grave markers of years gone by. Tour will start near the chapel, directly north of stone street. Tour will be in the elements, so dress accordingly.
2023 Sturgeon Festival
Place: Clay Township Park at 4768 Pointe Tremble Road in Clay Township.

Children’s activities, educational booths about the lake Sturgeon and rides around the park on the trackless train will highlight the 2023 Sturgeon – Scarecrow Fest in Clay Township.
Date: Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023
Time: Noon to 5 p.m.
Cost: Free
Details: The trio of St Clair-Detroit River Sturgeon for Tomorrow, Pearl Beach Lions and Clay Township Recreation Scarecrow Fest have joined forces to host Sturgeon Festival 2023. Family activities will he held on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 12:00 to 5 p.m. at Clay Township Park. The Gobies will perform in the festival tent from 8 p.m. to midnight following the festival. There’s a $5 cover charge for the beverage tent entry.
Kids activities: Games, hands-on activities and various vendor booths for families. Plus Rosco the clown and the pet a sturgeon tank.
Fishing Contest: The North Channel Sturgeon Classic fishing contest begins at 6pm on Saturday September 23rd and ends at 8am on Sunday Sept. 24th. Only 35 anglers will be entered into the contest and registration had spots filling up quickly. To register visit stclairsturgeon.org.

Details: Car cruising, music and food from Eli’s Eats and In the Streets
Cruise parking at: Dairy Queen, Buscemis and Nicky D’s Diner.
We have Fall-In for Dogs at McCallum’s Orchard
Place: McCallum’s Orchard at 5697 Harris Road, Jeddo
Date: Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023
Time: 12:00 to 4 p.m.
Cost: Free
Details: The orchard is going to the dogs. We will have walking paths to enjoy a stroll with your dogs and family. Bluewater humane society will be on site as will other rescues. We follow St. Clair County’s Leash Law and at ALL times your furry friend must be on a leash and unless they are a service dog we ask that they do not enter the building, Groomers
Veterinarians and Vendors with dog/cat products for sale. Our kitchen will have food available for purchase as well as those orchard fresh donuts, apple cider and apple cider slushy’s. Come join us for a fun day at the orchard.
Scarecrow Saturday
Place: Fort Gratiot Pond at 4888 Parker Road, Fort Gratiot
Date: Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Cost: Free (except for purchase of concessions from the food trucks)
Details: Games, bounce houses, pumpkin patch and magic shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
