WhiteWater Express planned for vacant parcel in Chilson Commons

HAMBURG TWP. — A vacant piece of land in Hamburg Township’s Chilson Commons could soon be transformed into a WhiteWater Express Car Wash.

The Hamburg Township Planning Commission recommended approval of a final site plan, with conditions, during a meeting May 20. The project would transform the vacant 1.36-acre site at 5580 E. M-36 with a 4,375-square-foot tunnel car wash and 20 proposed vacuum spaces (free to customers).

There would be two pay stations, with one lane exclusively dedicated to monthly members, according to meeting documents.

The Hamburg Township Board of Trustees must now decide whether to approve, deny or return the site plan to commissioners for further review.

WhiteWater Express was founded in 2016 in Texas. The brand has more than 140 locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina and Michigan.

Erin McMachen of Stonefield Engineering and Design confirmed developers intend to break ground roughly 60 days after the project receives all necessary approvals.
