Where does Michigan State hockey land in latest national poll?

Michigan State hockey dropped in the latest USCHO.com national rankings released on Monday.

The Spartans opened the season with a split against New Hampshire, which resulted in Michigan State sliding down one spot to No. 3 nationally in this week’s USCHO.com poll. This is the same spot where Michigan State started the season, but last week moved up one spot to No. 2 in the country.

Michigan State was stunned by New Hampshire in last week’s opener, losing in the final seconds to the Wildcats. The Spartans would respond, though, with a shutout victory in game two to pick up the split. Michigan State is 1-1-0 on the year.

Next up for the Spartans this week is a massive road series at Boston University — who happens to have taken over the top spot nationally at No. 1 in the USCHO.com poll this week. The first game of the series will be on Friday night, and game two is scheduled for Saturday.
