It’s senior night for Michigan State basketball, and that means one last rodeo at Breslin Center for Spartan big men Jaxon Kohler and Carson Cooper.
The stars of MSU’s frontcourt will play their last home game in green and white on Thursday, March 5, against Rutgers, with a 8 p.m. tipoff on FS1.
It’s the culmination of four hard years of work for two “program guys” in the truest sense of the word, an increasingly rare thing in college basketball. According to CBS Sports’ Isaac Trotter, Kohler and Cooper are two of just 10 Big Ten scholarship players (and 22 high-major seniors nationally) who will finish their career at the school they began.
The Spartans, who are making a strong final seeding push ahead of the NCAA Tournament with four-straight wins, including at Purdue and Indiana, will also honor walk-on Nick Sanders, guard Denham Wojcik and guard Trey Fort for senior day, but there’s no question the night will be remembered for Kohler and Cooper.

MSU currently sits as the 2-seed in the Big Ten Tournament as well as a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament on Bracket Matrix, which combines many of the national brackets into an average seed.
After the Rutgers game, the Spartans finish off the regular season at Crisler Center with an epic top-10 showdown against Michigan.
But before then, it’s important MSU maintains its focus and beats a Rutgers team that comes to East Lansing as a significant underdog.
