We toured one of the newest brunch spots in Livingston County

“Livingston In Photos,” a series shot by reporter Makayla Coffee, highlights the extra-ordinary happenings of your neighbors.

BRIGHTON — The highly-anticipated Fork and Spoon Brunch House opened in Brighton on May 19.

For this week’s Livingston in Photos, I decided to visit the new restaurant at 101 Brookside Lane. The eatery offers a menu packed with eggs, omelets, benedicts, skillets, crepes, pancakes, waffles, salads, sandwiches and more.

Zsofie Towne, co-owner and operator, has already seen customers enjoying omelets and dishes like Huevos Rancheros — fried corn tortillas layered with cheddar cheese, black beans, two over-easy eggs, spicy ranchero sauce and sour cream.

She hopes to provide a “modern brunch” option with fresh ingredients, classic flavors and a relaxed atmosphere, according to the business’ website. The inside of the restaurant received a hefty makeover, according to Towne, essentially starting from scratch at the former Lil’ Chef.

Her co-owners are Nick Panos and Costas “Gus” Boutsikakis, the minds behind Nick’s Original House of Pancakes and Uptown Coney Island in Ann Arbor. Towne said it’s been her dream to open a restaurant of her own.

“It’s been a big goal and dream for me … to (have) the opportunity and chance (of) feeding a community and for them to be able to come out and enjoy a quality meal and connect with one another — it’s amazing,” she told The Daily.

The new business has hired 15 employees so far, but is seeking more. Fork and Spoon Brunch House is open daily 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Learn more at forkandspoonbrunchhouse.com.
