Two suspects arrested after Frenchtown home invasion

Two suspects were arrested following a home invasion early Tuesday morning, June 9, in Frenchtown Township, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

At 12:45 a.m., Monroe County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a resident in the 7700 block of Kirkwood Drive. The caller reported that two people had broken into her home, and she was assaulted by one of them before she could barricade herself safely away from them.

During the incident, one suspected armed with a machete caused extensive damage inside the home, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspects then fled the scene in a blue SUV.

An alert was issued and Taylor police located the vehicle and occupants shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Monroe County Deputies traveled to Taylor and took custody of a man, 29, and a woman, 31.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident rather than a random act of violence, and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
