Bedford, Gibraltar Carlson, Flat Rock and Ida are moving on.
Those four teams got the state boys basketball tournaments started with victory on Monday, Feb. 23.

They will play Wednesday in District semifinal games Wednesday.
The season came to an end for Monroe, Airport, Dundee, Milan and St. Mary Catholic Central.

Bedford 47, Trenton 45
TRENTON – Nick Coberley hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the resiliency the team showed tonight,” Bedford coach Nick Brillhart said. “They never gave up and everyone stepped up in the moment.”
Bedford was down 11-0 before scoring its first points of the game. The Mules trialed by 16 at halftime.
“Another slow start put us in a hole early, and we had to battle back in the second half with pure grit and determination,” Brillhart said.
Ish Hakki led the 9-14 Mules with 23 points and Henry Albring tossed in 10.
Bedford moves into the semifinals of the Division 1 District at Trenton against Woodhaven at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Gibraltar Carlson 47, Monroe 31
TRENTON – Defense was the key for Gibraltar Carlson, which only gave up 16 points in the first three quarters.
“The thing I am happiest about this season is our defense,” Carlson coach Phil Biondi said. “We are averaging 44 points per game. We rely on our defense.”
Trent Ison led the Carlson attack with 14 points and Jacob Collins and Carmine Carafelli finished with 9 each.
The 14-8 Marauders, who had an eight-game winning streak this season, has won three in a row. Next up is a semifinal game in the Division 1 District at Trenton against New Boston Huron at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“One our football players got into basketball shape, we’ve gotten better,” Biondi said. “We’ve got a good group of kids. I threw a lot of new stuff at them.”
Julian Espinoza scored a season-high 8 points to lead Monroe, which finished at 2-20.
Flat Rock 58, Airport 54
NEWPORT – Flat Rock earned its second win in a week over Airport after losing to the Jets earlier this season.
“Overall, beginning to end we played a good game,” Flat Rock coach Rick Smith said. “We struggled defensively in the fourth quarter, but we scored 20 which helped us weather the storm. We dug deep.”
The Rams never trailed, but Airport pulled within 33-32 in the third quarter. Jorand Godfrey hit a timely 3-pointer to hold off the Jet comeback.
Evan Szalay led the way with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Godfrey finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Flat Rock takes a 9-14 record into the semifinals of the Division 2 District at Jefferson against the host team at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Airport, which finishes with a 10-13 record, had a balanced attack with Aidyn Stahr (14), Dillon Byrd (10), Jack Baker (10) and Wally Sisler all scoring in double figures.
Ida 41, Dundee 24
NEWPORT – Luke Hennessey got Ida off to a fast start with a pair of 3-pointers and Ida beat its arch-rival for the third time this season.
“We came out with energy and great execution,” Ida coach Jared Karner said. “It’s hard to beat a team three times in a year, especially your rival.”
Connor Zimmerman paced the Blue Streak attack with 12 points and Owen Snyder dropped in 9.
Karner also praised the defense of Gavin Albring and Hennessey.
Ida (15-7) advances to the semifinals of the Division 2 District at Jefferson to play Grosse Ile at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Mason Ray led 6-17 Dundee with 8 points.
Riverview Richard 58, SMCC 37
ERIE – The defending state champions, led by former Milan coach Bobby (Green) Huey, ended the season for St. Mary Catholic Central.
The Falcons fell into an early hole, trailing 18-6 after one quarter.
Brock Cousino scored 11 points to lead SMCC, which finishes with a 3-20 record under new coach Bryce Windham.
Gabriel Richard (4-16) will play the host school in the semifinals of the Division 3 District at Erie Mason at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Brooklyn Columbia Central 80, Milan 40
Milan’s season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the Division 2 District at Tecumseh.
“Rough game for us,” Milan coach Bill Eaddy said.
Landon Talladay scored 11 points and Kingston Webster 9 for the 4-19 Big Reds.
“We made progress this season on defense but not as much progress as our staff hoped for offensively,” Eaddy said. “The boys worked hard from Day One which I was proud of, but we couldn’t quite solve how to deal with pressure from the opposing teams.”
