Road work update: Projects start Aug. 11 on M-99, M-43 in Lansing, Meridian Twp.

LANSING — A couple of road projects scheduled to start on Monday, Aug. 11 will affect some Lansing-area drivers.

The M-99 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) ramp to westbound Interstate 96 will be closed for resurfacing from Aug. 11 to Sept. 26, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.

Traffic will be detoured onto eastbound I-96 to Edgewood Boulevard and then onto westbound I-96.

Meanwhile, South Meridian Road will be closed at M-43 from Aug. 11 to Sept. 14 so crews can rebuild the intersection. That work is tied to the ongoing project to replace the M-43 bridge over the Red Cedar River, MDOT said.
