A few hours later, Matthew Lake, 48, of Owosso, died in a crash involving a semi truck on Grand River Avenue, between Gramer and Wallace roads, near Webberville, police said.

Lake was driving east about 6 a.m. when his SUV crossed the center line and hit a semi driven by a Fowlerville man, 66. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle, police said. The truck driver was not injured.

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office investigated both crashes and released the men’s names on Oct. 10.

Services for Stevenson were being handled by Mills Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids, according to an online death notice. A funeral was set for 11 a.m. Oct. 16.
