GAYLORD ― The MHSAA Division 2 regional championship girls basketball game between Petoskey and Elk Rapids has been postponed to tomorrow due to severe winter weather in Northern Michigan.
The D2, Region 9 title game will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 at Gaylord High School between the Northmen (21-3, 10-2 Big North) and the Cardinals (21-4, 10-0 Central State Activities Association-Red). The winner will move on to the quarterfinals to face the winner of Portland (21-4, 12-0 Capital Area Activities Conference-White) vs. Flint Powers Catholic (21-3, 10-0 Saginaw Valley League South).
Petoskey is aiming to win its first regional title in 27 years. Tickets can be purchased at GoFan.co while the game can be streamed live at NFHS.com with a subscription.
