During his radio show on Monday evening, Tom Izzo made an announcement that a program legend has rejoined the Michigan State program in a coaching capacity.
Raymar Morgan is back in East Lansing, and working with the Spartans as a student assistant coach. Morgan was a star in East Lansing from 2006-2010, appearing in two final fours.
Following his time in East Lansing, Morgan carved out a very nice professional career for himself in Europe. Playing pro ball from 2010-2025 in various European leagues, his professional career was highlighted by being Bundesliga’s 2017 MVP, to go along with the Most Effective Player, All-Bundesliga First Team, Bundesliga Offensive Best Offensive Player and the Bundesliga’s Top Scorer. He won LNB Pro A championship in 2022.
Now, he returns to East Lansing to begin a career in coaching under the legendary head coach that mentored him.
