GRAND RAPIDS — A doctor with the McLaren Greater Lansing health system was struck by a vehicle and killed Aug. 4 while jogging along a road northeast of Grand Rapids.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on Aug. 5 the man who died was Peter Luea, 53, of Dimondale.
Luea was a physician at McLaren Greater Lansing Family Medicine North clinic, McLaren said.
“A compassionate, dedicated physician, Dr. Luea was beloved by his patients and committed his professional life to the noble calling of caring for those in our community,” the health system said in a statement on Aug. 5. “He will be remembered and mourned by the McLaren team and the many lives he served and impacted.”
