Man killed in Port Huron shooting

PORT HURON, MI — A 30-year-old Detroit man died following a shooting at a gas station Monday, Oct. 13, Port Huron Police Chief Brian Kerrigan said in a news release.

Police responded to a report of a shooting the Marathon gas station at 1301 Military St. after receiving multiple 911 calls around 4:31 p.m.

The news release states the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Found a male subject who had been shot multiple times. He’s been transported to Lake Huron Medical Center, where he’s currently being treated. (Police) have a person in custody right now who is cooperating with the investigation,” Kerrigan said.

A 36-year-old woman was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the St. Clair County Jail, according to the news release. She is reportedly cooperating with investigators.

The investigation remains ongoing, led by the Port Huron Police Department Major Crimes Unit.
