Knicks fans mostly boo Trump during NBA Finals appearance. See video

President Donald Trump attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks on Monday, June 8 and was met with mostly boos as the arena monitors showed him.

Trump attended the game, a 115-111 win for the Spurs, which snapped New York’s 13-game playoff winning streak.

Cameras in the arena showed Trump during the national anthem as he saluted. When he appeared on monitors, audible booing can be heard throughout Madison Square Garden.

Trump was invited to the game by James Dolan, the owner of both the Knicks and Madison Square Garden. Fans who attended the game were went through extra security measures to ensure the president’s safety.

Only people with a ticket were allowed outside MSG as watch parties were shut down outside the arena because of the security measures.

Game 4 between the Knicks and Spurs will be Wednesday, June 10, at Madison Square Garden.

How popular is Trump?

President Donald Trump’s approval ratings are among the lowest of his political career, USA TODAY reported.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll shows that only 35% of Americans approve of the Trump’s performance as of Monday, June 8.

The 4,531 Americans who were surveyed cited rising food and gas prices as their reason for disapproval.

Voters gave the president similar ratings in Reuters polls in April and May. His current rating now is close to his first-term low of 33% back in December 2017.
