There were several impressive performances at conference swimming and diving meets across West Michigan from all of the Holland-area teams.
Here is a look at what happened in each meet.
OK Lakeshore
Unity Christian and Grand Rapids Christian tied for the OK Lakeshore title, stunningly both finishing with 449 points in a meet that came down to the final relay. Unity won the overall league title based on dual meets.
Holland Christian was third with 415, followed by Hamilton (268), Spring Lake (183), Mona Shores (106) and Holland (93).
Holland Christian started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Camryn Siegers, Jackie Brink, Kennie Lewis and Ava Helms got to the wall in 1:48.72.
Siegers broke the meet record to win the 200 IM in 2:03.71, a seven-second drop from her prelims time.
She also set the meet record to win the 100 free in 50.58.
Lewis won the 100 backstroke in 1:00.31, just 14 hundredths of a second ahead of Unity Christian’s Ava Schepers.
The Maroons ended the meet with a 400 free relay win in 3:41.93w with Siegers, Izzy Rotman, Kyla Schippers and Lewis holding off Unity Christian (3:42.20).
Hamilton’s Alyssa Volkers broke the meet record to win the 200 freestyle in 1:56.65. She also won the 500 freestyle in 5:17.19.
Addi Garvelink took second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.13.
Hamilton’s Josi Popma won diving with 447.70 points with a meet-record. Holland Christian’s Sadie DuBois was second with a score of 370.80.
Unity Christian’s Courtney Holtrop won the 50 free in 24.51 and 100 breaststroke in 1:08.96.
Grand Rapids Christian’s Juliana Mills won the 100 butterfly (59.62).
OK Metro
Zeeland finished third in the OK Metro with 335 points. Jenison won the meet with 445 and East Grand Rapids was second with 409.
In perhaps the race of the day, Zeeland’s Madison Ensing won the 200 free in 1:50.13, ahead of Jenison’s Layla Umstead (1:53.62) and Kylie Coffey (1:54.71).
Ensing also won the 100 butterfly in 55.32 for a victory by more than as second.
Zeeland’s Natalie Lauritzen won the 200 IM in 2:06.13, just ahead of Byron Center’s Adrianna Drake (2:06.29).
Ensing, Lauritzen, Paige Davis and Ariyah Gettings won the 200 free relay in 1:35.61.
Lauritzen, Gettings, Davis Mallory Ensing took second in the 200 medley relay (1:47.84).
Lauritzen took second in the 100 backstroke (56.39) behind Jenison’s Dalila Brown (55.37).
Gettings took third in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.81).
Umstead (5:02.23) and Coffey (5:10.96) went 1-2 in the 500 freestyle.
Jenison’s Emma Albrecht won the 50 freestyle in 23.54 adn 100 free (50.56). Missy Search won diving (403.65).
OK Red
West Ottawa finished sixth in the OK Red finals with 85 points. Rockford won with 459, ahead of Grand Haven (417) and Hudsonville (351).
West Ottawa’s Lauren Frampton finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:34.41), just behind East Kentwood’s Scarlett Roberston (5:32.33).
West Ottawa’s Maggie Hill finished second in diving with a score of 331.45. Rockford’s Ava Zubrickas won (360.45).
Grand Haven’s Genevieve Springer, who swims club for Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics in Holland, won the 200 freestyle (1:52.72) by four seconds.
Grand Haven’s Addison Andree won the 100 butterfly (59.91).
