Heat, humidity on way. Where it's raining now

A band of rain and storms was moving across Michigan early Tuesday, June 9, staring off a humid day in Michigan.

“Several rounds of rain and thunderstorms expected today through this evening (June 9),” the Detroit National Weather Service said on X on June 9. “Heavy rainfall will be possible and may lead to isolated flash flooding, especially if heavy rain impacts urban and other flood-prone areas.”

Temperatures across the Lower Peninsula will range in the 70s to mid-80s on Tuesday, June 9. In the Upper Peninsula, temperatures also will be in the 70s to 80s with some cooler spots in the upper 60s.

Humidity in the Detroit area was 79% Tuesday morning, and could top 90% by Wednesday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, June 10-11, hotter air will arrive, with cities in the southern L.P. reaching 90-92 degrees, bringing a risk for severe conditions.
