The Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners are set for Game 3 of the ALDS in the 2025 MLB playoffs (follow updates).
The best-of-five series has shifted to Comerica Park in Detroit, after the Tigers won Game 1 in Seattle and the Mariners won Game 2. The probable starting pitchers are Jack Flaherty for the Tigers opposing Logan Gilbert for the Mariners. They’ll both face solid batting lineups despite the scores of the first two games each being 3-2.
Kerry Carpenter has moved into the leadoff spot for today’s game for the Tigers.
Josh Naylor is playing first base and batting fifth for the Mariners, after not traveling with the team to Detroit while awaiting the birth of his child.
The Tigers are in a good spot after splitting the road games, recent history says, though they were in this same position in 2024 against Cleveland. They won Game 3, dropped a nail-biter in Game 4 and were slammed out in Game 5 in Cleveland.
However, this year, the Tigers won Game 1, which bodes even better for them (they won Game 2 in Cleveland last year).
