The Sault honors U.S. military personnel who have died while serving their nation on Decoration Day, rather than Memorial Day. Decoration Day predates Memorial Day as a date to remember the fallen.

According to VFW Post 3676 in Sault Ste. Marie, lineup for the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. behind Pingatore Cleaners. The parade gets started at 7 p.m. and will end with a memorial ceremony on the courthouse lawn. The ceremony will include the laying of wreaths and a 21 gun salute.

The parade is organized by VFW Post 3676 and American Legion Post 3.
