Longtime “Storage Wars,” star Darrell Sheets died in his western Arizona home at 67, police said on Wednesday, April 22.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department said authorities found Sheets dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in the city at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
Network A&E, on which “Storage Wars” has run on for over 17 seasons, said in a statement to USA TODAY that they were “saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Sheets had two children: daughter Tiffany Shane Sheets and son Brandon Sheets.

Did Darrell Sheets die?
Yes, Darrell Sheets was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in the city at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, the Lake Havasu City Police Department said.
Sheets’ death remains under investigation, with his body being taken to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office, the department said in a news release. The Lake Havasu City Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to call them at 928-855-1171.
Who was Darrell Sheets?
Born in California in 1958, Darrell Sheets was a longtime star on “Storage Wars,” a reality television show that premiered in 2010, following buyers of abandoned and unopened storage lockers competing to obtain valuable contents in Southern California.
Sheets appeared in 163 episodes of the series, but has only sporadically appeared in the latest seasons after he revealed he suffered a heart attack in 2019. Upon leaving the locker trade industry, he moved to Arizona and owned an antiques store.
He was a father of two, including daughter Tiffany Shane Sheets and son Brandon Sheets, who also appeared in the A&E series following in his dad’s footsteps. Sheets’ bio indicates that he hoped to pass on the “adventure and education” of storage buying to Brandon.
Was ‘Storage Wars’ filmed in Michigan?
No, while “Storage Wars” was not filmed in Michigan. The reality show “Parking Wars,” which followed parking enforcement officers in various cities, was partially filmed in Detroit, according to IMDb.
