The NBA trade deadline has just passed, marking the end of a key roster building period. As the deadline has passed, the final trades are being processed, and it has affected one former Spartan. Xavier Tillman has been moved from the Boston Celtics to the Charlotte Hornets, where he will reunite with his former teammate, Miles Bridges. It is unclear what the return was, if anything, because the Celtics had to make the move to get out of the luxury.
A second round pick by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2020, Tillman spent the first 3.5 years of his career in Memphis, when he was a part of a deadline deal in 2024 to Boston. That season, he helped the Celtics win an NBA championship. Now, two years later, he is on the move again.
In his career, Tillman has been known for his defense, and in 274 games, he has averaged 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
