Fresh off a dominant performance against Tampa Bay, Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson continues to lead the NFL in quarterback pressures through Week 7.
While Hutchinson’s sack streak ended on Monday night, he still wreaked havoc on Bucs QB Baker Mayfield. Hutchinson has been doing that all season. In fact, nobody is doing it better than No. 97 through the first seven weeks of 2025.
Pressures are a subjective statistic with no steadfast criteria. But as long as a source collecting the data applies its criteria uniformly, it’s easy to get an idea of how great one player is doing in relation to others trying to do the same thing. To cross-check, Pro Football Focus also has Hutchinson leading the league with 48 total pressures through Week 7. In PFF’s metrics, Hutchinson is tied for fifth in Pass Rushing Productivity, or PRP. PFF defines PRP as, “a formula that combines sacks, hits and hurries relative to how many times they rush the passer.” Interestingly, Hutchinson is tied with linemate Al-Quadin Muhammad for fifth, with an 11 percent PRP.
