Enjoy “Annie” with the Little Traverse Civic Theatre
The Little Traverse Civic Theatre will have several performances of “Annie” this weekend at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey.
Upcoming performances are at 7 p.m. on May 8, 9, 14 and 15, and at 2 p.m. on May 10 and 16.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students.

See sturgeon up close on Earth Week Plus tour
If you’d like an up close look at the prehistoric lake sturgeon in their natural habitat, Earth Week Plus is offering a guided sturgeon viewing and hatchery tour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9.
Jay Woiderski, president of Sturgeon for Tomorrow, will guide participants along the Black River and explain protection measures for the species. Tour participants will then be able to visit the nearby hatchery to see larval lake sturgeon.
The tour is free and suitable for all ages, but spots are limited and pre-registration is required. To register, visit sturgeonfortomorrow.org and click on Events.
Help raise funds for cancer services in Charlevoix
The 32nd Annual Sue DeYoung/Judy Edger Memorial Breast Cancer 5K Walk & Run is set to take place in downtown Charlevoix on Saturday, May 9.
The event honors two local women: Sue DeYoung, a mother of four who died from cancer in 1992, and Judy Edger, a driving force behind the 5K fundraiser until her death in 1999.
Participants will meet in East Park at 8 a.m. when registration begins. The walk and run start at 9 a.m. Proceeds will go to the Charlevoix County Circle of Strength Foundation and the Health Department of Northwest Michigan.

Every second Saturday of the month, Raven Hill Discovery Center in East Jordan offers a free afternoon of hands‑on discovery, education and play for families.
Guests can explore the museum’s indoor and outdoor exhibits, which focus on science, history and art. They can see live animals, nature displays and much more.
