Festival seeks Mr., Miss. & Madame Maritime Days applicants

2025 event also hosting a Jr. Miss Martime Days contest

The Maritime Days Festival set for Aug. 1, 2 and 3 in Marine City, will introduce several new special faces this year. Organizers are seeking applicants for Miss., Mr., Madame and Jr. Miss Maritime Days candidates.

Completed application and clear photos of all the applicant must be received by 11p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

The Madame Maritime Days and Mr. Maritime Days categories are making their debut at the festival. For madame organizers are seeking a lady in the community who is at least 70 years of age and has spent a lifetime making a difference—whether through service, leadership, kindness, or community pride. Mr. Maritime days must be 14 to 18 years old and be a member of the East China School District or homeschooled in the area.

“This is your chance to represent your community, take part in exciting events, and make lasting memories,” a flyer from the Maritime Days Committee states.

The debut of the Madame Maritime Days contest will be a highlight of this year’s Maritime Days Festival in Marine City on Aug. 1, 2 and 3.

Contest eligibility requirements

· Miss & Mr. Maritime – applicant must be between the age of 14-18, as of August 1, 2025

· Jr. Miss Maritime – age 9-13, as of August 1, 2025.

· Applicant must be a student in the East China School District. If homeschooled, home address must be within Marine City/Cottrellville/China/East China zip codes.

· Madame Maritime – Applicant must be age 70 plus also a resident of Marine City, Cottrellville. China, or East China.

All Applicants:

· Must be present at the crowning ceremony taking place at 7:30 pm on Friday, August 1, 2025 and to participate in the Festival Parade on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

· Participation in the Marine City Holly Jolly Christmas Parade is optional. This parade is typically held the Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving (November 25, 2025).

The festival is also introducing a Mr. Maritime contest that welcomes applicants between the ages of 14 and 18.

How the contest will work

Miss Maritime Days/Mr. Maritime Days

· Voting boxes including photos of the first 12 eligible applicants will be placed around Marine City. The applicants that receive the most monetary donations will be crowned Miss Maritime Days & Mr. Maritime Days 2025. The two applicants with the next highest amounts will be selected as Queens Court & Kings Court members and will accompany the King & Queen in the parade taking place on August 3, 2025.

· Miss Maritime Days & Mr. Maritime Days will each receive a cash prize totaling 40% of the amount collected in their division’s donation boxes. The King & Queen’s Court members will each receive a cash prize totaling 10% of the amount collected in their division’s donation boxes.

Jr. Miss Martitime Days:

· Voting boxes including photos of the first 12 eligible applicants will be placed around Marine City. The applicant that receives the most monetary donations will be crowned Jr. Miss Maritime Days 2025. Jr. Miss Maritime Days will receive a cash prize totaling 40% of the amount collected in their division’s donation boxes.

Madame Maritime Days:

· Voting boxes including photos of the first 12 eligible applicants will be placed around Marine City. The applicant that receives the most monetary donations will be crowned Madame Maritime Days 2025.

· Winner will receive a gift certificate for a day at the spa and will be featured in the Maritime Days parade along with Miss Maritime Days, Mr. Maritime Days and Jr. Miss Maritime Days.
