New Life Christian Academy set to host fundraising dinner

By Joseph Hayes

This past year presented plenty of challenges for school districts.

Considering how difficult it has been for entire school districts, imagine all that has unfolded at local private schools.

New Life Christian Academy has become synonymous with success and has become a standard barrier among Blue Water Area schools.

Now the school is asking for support from the community it serves. On Friday, Jan. 15, the school will host a fundraising dinner where people can purchase a meal for a child or an adult.

Each dinner will include spaghetti, salad, bread sticks and a dessert. Dinner for an adult is $10; for students $7 and for children under four years old the meal will be provided for free.

Time slots from 5:30-6:30 pm are available for dinner pick-up and tickets can be purchased in advance at the school office.

“I love having my children go to New Life Christian Academy,” parent Renee Hernandez said. “They are getting a great education, learning the Bible, and getting a solid foundation they will be able to use for the rest of their life.

“We have this unique Christian school gem in the community. The school has students from about 35 different churches. The families are all coming together to unite in providing a great Christian education to our children.”

Hernandez said the school body has become essentially one big family and is using the fundraiser to pull even closer together.

“One thing we really appreciate about the school is that we’re all like a family,” she said. “We’re all there to help one another and look after one another’s children.

“Teachers care for our children as if they were their own.”

Tickets to the dinner can purchased in advance per time slot. Contact the school office for tickets at (810) 367-3770.

If a person can’t make it to the dinner but would still like to donate toward the effort of bringing Christian education to the Blue Water Area, they can contact the school at the aforementioned number or go to the school website at

Checks can be mailed to 5517 Griswold, Kimball, MI 48074.
