A 40-year old suspect wanted in connection with a murder of a female in her home in Detroit Wednesday evening has been arrested in Tuscola County.

According to the Michigan State Police, Troopers from the Caro Post made a traffic stop Thursday evening for a person speeding, two hours after the murder.

An investigation later showed the person, who had been stopped in Fremont Township, was the person police were seeking as a possible suspect in the Detroit homicide.

The Trooper had cited the person for speeding and released them.

The suspect’s car was later found in Caseville and it was confirmed the man was in the home and was the person of interest in the Detroit case.

At 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Troopers executed a search warrant of the Tuscola County home man and arrested the individual without incident.

Authorities say several items of interest were found in the Caseville home.

The 40-year old was lodged in the Tuscola County jail on unrelated charges and was expected to be transported back to Detroit.
