Motorcycle vs Car accident in Sanilac County

(SANILAC COUNTY) – A 21-year old Bad Axe man sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle and car crash in northwest Sanilac County Friday afternoon.

Sanilac Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting the crash on VanDyke Road at Bay City Forestville Road in Greenleaf Township.

Deputies say a 21-year-old Bad Axe man was riding a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle north on VanDyke Road and was struck by a westbound vehicle on Bay City Forestville Road.

The 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt was driven by a 19-year-old Cass City man.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt was stopped at the intersection and pulled out into the path of the motorcycle.

The 21-year-old Bad Axe man was flown from the scene of the crash by Flight Care to Covenant Hospital in Saginaw while the 19-year-old Cass City man and his 18-year-old passenger were treated on scene by Cass City MMR.

Cass City Fire, Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, Cass City MMR assisted deputies.
