With snow falling and it beginning to look a lot like Christmas there is one gift the season brings that isn’t very merry, the flu.
Influenza is caused by a virus that mutates frequently. It is a good idea to get a flu shot yearly but there is still the chance you can end up with the flu. If this does happen to you, there are herbs that can help ease your symptoms and speed up your recovery.

Catnip Hyssop Tea
Catnip and hyssop fight inflammation and ease symptoms including sore throat and body aches. They also strengthen your immune system.
1 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon of dried catnip
1 teaspoon of dried hyssop
Pour the boiling water into a large mug and add the dry herbs. Cover the mug and allow the tea to steep for ten minutes.
Relax and drink the tea slowly inhaling the steam to ease congestion. You can repeat this up to four times per day.
Precautions, do not use this during pregnancy and omit the hyssop if you have epilepsy.
