Algonac won its first regional softball trophy in school history on Saturday, defeating Canton Prep 18-0 and following it up with a 16-0 victory over Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett.
The Muskrats will look to continue their historic run as they play Grass Lake today at Adrian College in the MHSAA Division 3 Quarterfinal game. The first pitch is set for 4 o’clock, but before then, get to know the team:

This special group of athletes has seen more success than any previous Algonac softball team, claiming the school’s first regional title. As they’ve said all year, “Why not us?” And so far, they haven’t given reasons to doubt them.
These athletes have been hard at work with one goal in mind: June.
It may be one small word representing just one month, but with each game they’ve played this month, they’ve gotten one step closer to their ultimate goal, and have made history along the way.
