Medilodge of St. Clair COVID-19 Facility Update

Medilodge of St. Clair is providing expert care for residents diagnosed with COVID-19. Our staff is following all state and federal guidelines for COVID-19 prevention. These measures include; enhanced infection control protocols, expanded use of personal protective equipment, such as masks and gowns, restricting visitors, screening staff, and not allowing any communal activities.

To ensure the needs of our community would be met, preparations were made in advance of the Michigan outbreak. We knew we would need to assist our local hospitals in accepting COVID-19 patients for the recovery cycle of this disease process. Medilodge of St. Clair, based on having the necessary supplies, personal protective equipment, and an amazing staff, stepped up to assist with the hospital discharges of COVID- 19 positive residents for their complex clinical treatment and care.

“We are extremely proud of our professional and dedicated staff who continue to meet this challenge head-on” stated Cyle Pickett, Medilodge of St. Clair Administrator. Due to the state ordered restrictions on visitors, which we know is frustrating for our residents and their families, we have employed Facility Support Advocates. These Advocates are dedicated to providing support to residents, including assisting with video chats with their families, and anything else we can to do help them.

While we cannot provide specific patient details due to strict confidentiality laws, Medilodge of St. Clair is pleased to announce that we have successfully discharged 16 residents who have recovered from COVID-19.

Medilodge will continue following all mandated safety and prevention protocols, infection control measures, and work closely with St. Clair County Health Department officials. Our best interest is in the health and safety of all of our residents and staff.
